Bruce Mishkit

Bruce Mishkit has over 25 years of freelance saxophone/flute experience in recording studios, big bands, jazz and R&B groups.

Bruce studied at CSU Hayward receiving a music degree with honors and an MA in Multimedia Art. He also studied privately with: Lloyd Gowen and David Subke on flute, Joe Henderson and Hal Stein on saxophone and Don Hass and Mark Levine on piano.

Performances include big band concerts with: Bob Berg, David Liebman, Donald Harrison, Rodney Holmes and Kenny Werner. Performance at the 1999 Monterey Jazz Festival with Michael Zilber and the CARMA big band. Other performances include concerts with Tom Scott, Victor Feldman, Jeff Lorber and Dan Siegel. Bruce can be heard on his own CD, Distant Runner, as well as on those of Kenneth Nash, Adolofo Rivero, Pure Joy and numerous others.

Bruce has been teaching for 30 years both privately and at various schools in the bay area. He is currently the Director of Instumental Music at Crystal Springs Uplands School.

Bruce owns and operates Deva Productions, providing in-house and remote AV recording and has produced for Michael Zilber, Debbie Poryes, Mary Fettig, Christy Dana and many others.

He is the author of Master Lessons for the Creative Musician, endorsed by Michael Brecker and Eddie Daniels; published by Deva Productions.
